I did this alongside some other students and staff from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surrey.ac.uk\/\">University of Surrey<\/a>, my alma mater, who fund and run the festival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over that time, I was tasked with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deciding the speaker lineup and schedule<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reaching out to speakers and companies with invitiations or advertising enquiries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overseeing and assisting all the volunteer teams working on marketing and social media<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Moderating and chairing events myself, either digitally or personally<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing on-the-day issues. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In short, I was a large part of ensuring that all of these processes run efficiently, smoothly and to a high degree of professionalism. I even received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/leon-paul-lynn\/overlay\/education\/551961862\/multiple-media-viewer\/?profileId=ACoAACNhyJEBGwZ1gxc8e_5F8opMu0NWcQ7_P9w&amp;treasuryMediaId=1635497473303\">a special commendation<\/a> from the university for my work on the festival, and in helping it represent the unversity&#8217;s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion initiative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also designed and created the 2022 digital flyer, 2022 digital ticket release, and a few social media posts myself in PhotoShop (which you can see some of above and all in my ad gallery), and wrote a few articles too over the years.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lastly, I did do the website copy, but since <a href=\"https:\/\/leonlynn.com\/leonlynn\/2024\/09\/30\/update-broken-snwf-articles\/\">the 2024 website redesign<\/a>, that has unfortunately been lost to time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During 2021 and 2022, I had the pleasure of co-directing the Surrey New Writers Festival.
