It plays on the conventions of &#8220;gritty&#8221; stories by first meeting and then undermining them. While I can write better than this today, I&#8217;ve kept it as a reminder of how far I&#8217;ve come\u2014and how interesting reimaginings can be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be aware that the story contains violence and excessive gore: read at your own discretion.
