This article explains how to make better New Year\u2019s Resolutions for your writing, and outlines how to break up big and vague goals like \u2018improving my poetry\u2019 or even \u2018getting fitter\u2019 into small, clear and managable tasks that slowly build up to your goal. The post explains how to structure these goals into what I call \u201cladders\u201d, and how to use these “ladder” structures to slowly yet reliably work up to your goal. It was written for the 2021 Surrey New Writers Festival<\/a> social media campaign, which I was assistant director for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
