One of my modules on my univeristy course involved me translating a section from the fourteenth-century Middle English poem ‘Sir Gawain and The Green Knight’. The poem follows one of King Arthur’s knights, Gawain, try to survive a bet with a supernatural Green Knight, who is revealed to be a test of Gawain’s chivalry. I chose to translate lines 2429-2478 (Anon. 1925 and 1967, link in post) to prose, where the true meaning of the bet is revealed to Gawain by the Green Knight.

You can read it here, along with the original excerpt.
