I’m beyond excited to be able to say that I’ve been invited to 2023’s Surrey New Writers Festival to give an introductory session on interactive storytelling.
As I’ve mentioned before, the University of Surrey is my alma mater, at which I used to co-direct the SNWF—so it’s very surreal to be doing this all from the other side of things!
The talk, called ‘To Do Or Not To Do: An Introduction to Interactive Storytelling’, will look at how to get started with the writing interactive narratives—in an interactive way, of course.
But, I’ll also explore how to apply interactive techniques to novels, poetry, screenplays, and other traditionally “non-interactive” writing.
Additionally, I’ll be chairing a panel on Visual Writing, discussing how visual media change the way we write.
